Martha King has more than twenty years of experience in accounting, auditing, and financial analysis. She has a broad range of experience with strategic planning, budgeting, financial reporting, control assessment, the development of financial-reporting systems, and the development of financial models.

Martha has functioned as a stand-in CFO (i) overseeing all areas of accounting — including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, control assessment, financial statements, budgets, and (ii) working with CEOs on strategic plans. Recent consulting assignments include working with a local unit of Government to develop a stochastic model to assess the impact of alternative courses of actions and alternative economic trends upon its Sewer Fund over a 25-year horizon.

Martha began her career as a public accountant for Ernst & Young, where she was heavily involved in audit planning for her clients. Later assignments included stints at New England Electric System and (an electric utility based in the Northeast) where she honed her skills in strategic planning, budgeting, auditing, financial analysis, risk management, and financial-statement development.

Martha’s consulting work has focused on strategy development, development of financial-reporting systems, financial analysis, and profit-improvement programs. Martha is an authority on the financial aspects of regulated industries.

Currently, Martha is the owner of Accounting Advantage which specializes in implementing and optimizing accounting and information-control systems.

Martha is a CPA, certified by the State of Michigan, and holds a BBA from the University of Michigan.
